    The day from December 31 to January 1 is the day the year changes, so many people gather to celebrate and console each other.

     

    When Joseon, The Bosingak bell rang when the gates of Seoul were opened and when emergency situations such as fire broke out.

    In New York, there are places where people gather in Korea, just as people gather on Times Square Street.

    Where could it be?

     

    Now, Bosingak's bell ringing event is held only on the first day of every year.

    It is Jonggak in Seoul.

    Jonggak is a place where a bell called Bosingak is located, so it is called Jonggak, which is an area called Jonggak, with the word "jong."

     

     

    Before Korea, there was a country called Joseon.

    Before the enlightenment period, Joseon set the bell at this Bosingak Pavilion to let many people know the time.

    In Korea, long after the enlightenment period, Bosingak is considered one of Korea's heritage,

     

    and the Citizens who have contributed to the development of the country and local communities comes out to ring the bell for Bosingak at important events such as the New Year.

     

    Lee Seungman (1875 ~ 1965) The First President of South korea. Japanes colonial era a man who worked for the independence of Joseon at that time. A person who formed an alliance with United States to protect South Korea from North Korea during the Korean War. A person who registrered 'Boshingak' as a treasure of Seoul

    For reference, Bosingak was designated by Rhee Syng-man, the first president of South Korea, as a treasure of Seoul.

    Many people come to Bosingak on Jan. 1 to see the scene.

    There is a big road in front of Bosingak.

     

    This road be closed for citizens on January 1.

     

     

    When the bell rings, some people kiss each other to strengthen their relationship.

    Others scream and hug each other to thank each other.

     

     

    Each country may have different ways of celebrating the New Year, but Seoul cheers for the New Year like this.
